A RichAPI workspace invitation arrives by email, and the link opens the invitation page at https://app.richapi.ai/join/accept?invite_token=<token>. The page shows the workspace name, the role you receive, the name of the person who invited you, and the expiration date. Sign in with the address that received the invitation, and then select Accept Invitation.
What does a RichAPI invitation email contain?
An Owner of a RichAPI workspace sends the invitation to one email address. RichAPI sends one email per address.
Item in the email | What it holds |
Subject |
|
Notification line |
|
Action button | An Accept invitation link |
Plain link | The full URL in plain text ( |
Expiry line | The sentence |
Signature |
|
The link opens https://app.richapi.ai/join/accept?invite_token=<token>. The token belongs to your invitation alone. The page needs no other detail from the email.
What does the RichAPI invitation page show before you accept?
The invitation page shows four facts about the invitation inside the card:
Item on the page | What it shows |
Tag |
|
Heading |
|
Invited by | The full name or username of the person who sent the invitation (e.g. |
Role | The role the invitation grants you, either Owner or Member. |
Expires at | The date the invitation stops working (e.g. |
Continue as | The email address of your current signed-in session. |
The page shows no credit balance and no member list before you accept. A workspace shares one credit balance across every member.
How to accept a RichAPI invitation when you already have an account
Open the invitation email from RichAPI.
Select Accept invitation.
Read the workspace name, the role, and the expiry date on the page.
If the page prompts you to sign in, enter your registered email address and password.
Make sure that the Continue as line shows the address that received the invitation.
Select Accept Invitation.
The button label changes to Joining team... during the join. RichAPI then adds you to the workspace, deletes the invitation token, and opens the workspace home page at https://app.richapi.ai/home/<workspace-slug>.
For full sign-in details, read Creating Your Account and Signing In.
How to accept a RichAPI invitation when you have no account yet
If you do not have an account yet, create one using the email address that received the invitation:
Open the invitation email and select Accept invitation.
Select Sign Up on the invitation page.
Enter the email address that received the invitation, then type a password twice.
Select Sign up with Email →.
Open the confirmation email from RichAPI and select the email verification link.
Return to the invitation link in your browser.
Confirm that the Continue as line shows the newly verified email address.
Select Accept Invitation.
CAUTION: Enter the address that received the invitation at step 3. A sign-up with a different address creates an account that cannot accept the invitation.
If RichAPI opens the home page instead of the invitation page, open the link in the invitation email again. The invitation stays valid until the expiry date.
How to fix "This invitation was sent to a different email address"
This is the most common failure. RichAPI compares the address on the invitation with the address of the account you signed in with. If the two addresses differ, the accept fails and RichAPI shows this message:
This invitation was sent to a different email address. Please sign in with the correct account.
The message means one thing only. The invitation went to one address, and you signed in with another. A forwarded invitation email causes the same result.
Fix the failure with these steps:
Select your profile picture at the bottom of the sidebar.
Read the address under Signed in as.
Compare that address with the address that received the invitation email.
Select Sign out.
Open the link in the invitation email again.
Sign in with the address that received the invitation.
Select Accept Invitation.
To join with the address you already use, ask an Owner for a new invitation to that address. An Owner sends it from the Members tab of the Organization page.
When does a RichAPI invitation expire?
A RichAPI invitation expires 7 days after an Owner creates it. The invitation page shows the exact date next to Expires at.
State | What you see | What to do |
The invitation is valid. | The workspace name, the role, and the expiry date. | Select Accept Invitation. |
The invitation expired before you opened the link. | The screen | Ask an Owner to renew or resend the invitation. |
The invitation expired while the page stayed open. | The message | Ask an Owner to renew or resend the invitation. |
A renewal moves the expiry date 7 days into the future and keeps the same link. An Owner renews an invitation from the Pending Invites card on the Members tab of the Organization page.
What can you do after you join a RichAPI workspace?
Your role decides what you can do. The invitation page showed the role before you accepted.
Action | Owner | Member |
See the member list | Yes | Yes |
Create an API key | Yes | Yes |
Buy credits | Yes | No |
See usage and the credit balance | Yes | Yes |
Invite a new member | Yes | No |
Change the role of a member | Yes | No |
Remove a member | Yes | No |
Open the billing portal | Yes | No |
Buying credits and the billing portal belong to organization owners. A person who owns any workspace in the organization is an organization owner.
Every member of the workspace spends credits from the same balance. A new member costs 0 credits, because RichAPI charges no fee for a seat. For the full permission table, read Managing Workspace Members and Permissions.
To move between the workspace and your other accounts, use the account list at the top of the sidebar.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a RichAPI account before I accept an invitation?
No. The invitation page shows a Sign Up option for a person with no account. Create the account with your email and password, verify your email, and then return to accept the invitation.
Does a RichAPI invitation need a password?
Yes. RichAPI accounts use standard Email and Password authentication. You will create your password during sign-up or enter your existing password when signing in.
How long does a RichAPI invitation stay valid?
A RichAPI invitation expires 7 days after an Owner creates it. The invitation page shows the exact date next to Expires at. An Owner can renew an expired invitation for another 7 days.
Can I accept an invitation with a different email address?
No. RichAPI accepts the invitation only for the address that received it. To use another address, ask an Owner of the workspace to send a new invitation to that address.
Is it safe to forward a RichAPI invitation email?
The person who receives the forwarded email cannot join. RichAPI compares the invited address with the address of the account, and rejects any other address.
What happens to my personal RichAPI account after I join a workspace?
Your personal account stays in place. The workspace is a separate account with its own API keys and members. It spends from the credit balance of its organization. The account list at the top of the sidebar holds both.
Who do I ask for a new RichAPI invitation?
Ask the person named next to Invited by on the invitation page, or any Owner of the workspace. An Owner sends a new invitation from the Members tab of the Organization page. For a failure that a new invitation does not fix, write to [email protected].
